Meet Donna and Sandy, two of the incredible volunteers who help keep our inventory and bookstore at Reach a well-stocked, welcoming space! Get to know more about their work with Reach and what they enjoy reading through the Q&A below!


What do you do at Reach? 

Donna: Inventory.

Sandy: I volunteer at the bookstore counter.


Why do you volunteer at Reach? 

Donna: It keeps my mind busy and active and the generosity of people donating their books.

Sandy: I really enjoy helping people find books that they like.


What’s one thing you think everyone should know about Reach? 

Donna: There are always free board books and free children's books with each visit.

Sandy: We are so lucky to have people donate their books.


Which book made you fall in love with reading?

Donna: Laura Ingalls Wilder book series.

Sandy: Little House on the Prairie. Great minds think alike!


What’s a book you think everyone should read at least once in their lifetime? 

Donna: The Bible.

Sandy: Charlotte's Web


Which fictional world would you love to live in?

Sandy: Peter Pan's World—where you could be a kid forever!


How has being a part of Reach Literacy impacted your reading habits?

Donna: I'm reading a greater variety of books.

Sandy: I have stacks of books to read, and I still get new ones.


What’s your favorite way to discover new books?

Donna: Friends.

Sandy: I read reviews of books recommended.


What’s your favorite way to discover new books?

Sandy: Pippi Longstocking.
