BEE a READER

Our BEE a Reader program, which launched in November of 2020, is designed to support readers in grades 2nd-8th grade.

The goal is to increase children’s confidence in their reading abilities through positive one-to-one reading experiences with caring volunteers, who we call Reading Role Models.

For our younger students, adults meet virtually, once a week, for 12 weeks at a time.  Each week, adults and students read, talk, laugh, and bond over books to create positive experiences with reading.

Our middle school program, 6-8th graders meet with caring adults to read short stories, a novel, and visit about what the student is currently reading.  The last eight weeks, students meet as a small group to read and discuss a novel together.
