What are you reading right now?

Atomic Habits by James Clear, Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman, Commentary on Romans by Martin Luther and several others.

Who is your favorite author?

You might as well ask me to pick a favorite of my three daughters. If forced I would choose C.S. Lewis.

What book are you too nervous to begin?

Swann’s Way by Marcel Proust has been staring at me from my living room shelf for years.

Favorite TV or film adaption of a book?

I’m nearly always disappointed by the adaptations, but in many ways the Harry Potter movies were better than the books.

Car reading: yea or nay?

I’m a lifetime member of what Zig Ziglar called “Automobile University.” If I’m driving, it’s an audiobook. Riding, it’s a physical book.

Which do you prefer: audiobook, ebook or physical book?

I like books in every format but consume mostly physical or audio.

What is your favorite reading spot?

Our cabin in the Black Hills where I’m known to read a book each day.

What is your preference when it comes to books: new or used?

There’s more character in used.

"It was a dark and stormy night" or "Once upon a time"?

Neither. Just get to the story already.

If you could have coffee with any author - dead or alive - who would it be? Why?

I would attend an Inklings meeting at the Eagle & Child pub in Oxford when C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien read each other my all-time favorite fiction. Engaging the minds behind Narnia and Middle Earth would blow my mind. We’d be drinking. But not coffee.
